Discussing Property Taxes

I would like to get feedback on the May 2024 Crooked Creek Alert meeting regarding property taxes. Personally, for me, I feel like I need more clarity and comprehension for how property taxes work. For me, it sounded like the aim at property taxes leads to a lack of ability to establish generational wealth. Indiana seems to have no intention to protect our senior communities. While I respect the position of the treasury department that came to represent and give insight, there was no true understanding of how to maneuver in this field of wealth benefits. Any thoughts on this subject?

I agree. You definitely need to take a deep dive into property taxes. Taxes all together! The state representative that said that if these property taxes we're no longer paid by the 65 and older that we would lose city services is not 100% true. There's a documentary by the producer of the moving trading places, I think Eddie Murphy was in that. The producer's name is Aaron Russo. He made a documentary called freedom to fascism. It talks about the tax system.
